I think it happens maybe 3-4 times a month. It doesn't happen to me as much as others. I did a hard restart of the computer every time. I have not tried to turn off the monitor.
Another time only my main monitor went black the 2nd monitor was still working and i was able to move my windows from my main monitor to my 2nd monitor. Then when it happened while working i did a win key + typed the name of my music player, pressed enter and then the key bind to start playing music and it did. I could still shoot and hear the sound effect and also the music. The first time it happened to me i was playing a game so i could easily see the computer was still working. If you're doing some Studio coding without any music playing then a black screen where you have to reset the computer will totally look like the whole system died. But a black screen and a total system freeze can be easy to mix. (12000 score)ġ080p Medium - 81 deg temp at 35fps avg.Click to expand.I have not experienced a complete freeze either. NOTE: They say this method does NOT work 100% all the time. Works and my Speccy can now read my graphics card. Re-paste with Thermal Grease (don't use pastes that are shiny and have electrical conductivity).
I could see some more visible dirt and gum. Heat gunned the chip and vram part again for 4 minutes.Ĭleaned with wet wipes again but the PCB only. Used the heat gun to heat the chip and vram part in a circular movement for 8 minutesįlipped on the back of the card (exposed one) and heat gun it in 4 minutesįlipped it upright. Sprayed and brushed lightly with a contact cleaner formula (Arbo or WD40). Took out the fan cable and its socket (important to remove as it might melt). But for my case, I didn't use the oven trick since we are using the oven for foods. Tried all of the possible troubleshoot on the driver but to no avail. If there are any other pieces of information you may need, let me know. Really need to use this card for now since the GPU supply is so low which makes these latest GPU prices so high. I hope anyone of you could get my problem here fixed or somewhat. Name ASUS VZ279HE on Microsoft Basic Display Driver Still goes black and restarts.Īnalyzed my system through Speccy and seeing that I'm only using a basic ATI driver I think? Here's a text copy of it. Tried to updated using Catalyst (older) drivers. This is what happens after the windows loading screen
Updating the drivers makes the screen go black again and with a horizontal line on the middle of the screen (seems like a glitch or something) I can now boot it up without using Safe Mode, but Reinstalled graphics driver downloaded from the AMD Website both old and new I used DDU for the complete uninstall of the AMD drivers on my system. Uninstalled GPU drivers via Device Manager (Which is normal since it has restarted a few times now)įor the troubleshooting I've found on the internet, here's what I've already done:Ĭhanged/tried another GPU (borrowed one of my friend's 1070, works like magic)Ĭhanged the thermal compound of my GPU since it hasn't been changed ever since. Then it goes to the Automatic Repair screen. Here's a step-by-step flow of what is happening.Īfter the load, where you should see the log-on screen, it goes black.
This first time this happened to me was when I turned on my PC way back months ago (previous build). Now that I have a new Ryzen setup, it won't also work on it with updated drivers.
As the title says, I have an R9 270X Sapphire Vapor-X graphics card that I'm trying to use since I can't afford to upgrade due to the rising charges of the graphics card lately.īlack screen happened when I was still using my Intel build setup up.
